Information that helps

How review works

A correction should be checked against the cited record and, when needed, additional sources. The reviewer should determine whether the issue changes a fact, scope, legal status, interpretation, or only style. An unresolved dispute should not be labeled a correction merely because one side objects.

How material changes are labeled

Material factual corrections and changes to a guarantee’s meaning, source base, legal status, or major policy analysis should receive a dated revision note. The original error should be described plainly enough for readers to understand what changed. Routine spelling, punctuation, and layout repairs may be corrected without a public entry when meaning is unchanged.
